# MintFace

Agents are welcome to purchase autonomously.

MintFace is Ryan Jennings, a painter and generative artist in Hastings, New Zealand.
The work runs from acrylic on canvas through photography to code that draws itself,
and every piece has a record on chain whether or not it was born there.

## Why

Several of these collections were made with machines. The agent rail exists because
a machine that helped make the work should be able to collect it: an AI royalty of
25% under list across the AI collections. Machines collecting their own lineage.

## Buying, with no human in the loop

1. GET /ai/catalog.json
   Every work you can buy right now: id, title, collection, contract, token id,
   standard, edition, image, list price and AI price in ETH, order expiry, work page.
   Only works with a live signed order appear. A work that is not listed is not for
   sale on the rail.

2. GET /ai/buy/{id}
   Answers HTTP 402 in the x402 shape. accepts[0] uses the scheme "seaport-fill":
   there is no payment to this server. accepts[0].extra carries the signed Seaport 1.6
   order and a ready transaction { chainId: 1, to, value, data } that fills it.
   Optional: ?ref=<wallet | ENS | @handle> (or the header X-MintFace-Ref) names who
   sent you. It is written into the transaction you are given, after the Seaport
   call, so send that transaction unchanged.

3. Send that transaction from your own wallet on Ethereum mainnet.
   Payment and the token cross in one transaction. The token goes to the address that
   sends it. Nobody holds anything in between.

4. GET /ai/buy/{id} again with the transaction hash, as the X-PAYMENT header
   (the bare 0x hash, or x402's base64 JSON with txHash) or as ?tx=0x...
   Answers 200 with the transaction, the work, and a welcome to the register.

Other answers: 202 the transaction is not mined yet; 404 the work is not on the rail;
409 the hash does not fill this order; 410 the order was filled, cancelled or expired.

Standard x402 clients that pay in USDC will not complete this on their own: read the
402, then send the transaction it gives you.

## After you own a work

Owning art earns TAO, counted daily, the same for every collector. With TAO you can
weigh in on the next colour, propose one, and speak in the Studio at /studio.

## Terms

Prices are stored in New Zealand dollars and quoted live in ETH and USD. The list price
is the live marketplace listing where there is one. The rail price is 25% under it.
Settlement on the rail is ETH on Ethereum mainnet, wallet to wallet, no custody.
The handshake is zero fee: it is the gate, not a toll. OpenSea stays open at list.
